If the GoR wasn't an issue, then I could see the Big Ten target

both Syracuse and BC. However, I have a feeling that if the Big Ten expands, then it will either be 2 Eastern/Western schools or 4 teams with a 3-1 split. I say that because currently Indiana and Purdue are in opposite divisions and the only teams with a protected cross-division game. From a scheduling standpoint it is better to have all teams with the same number of protected cross-division because it makes it easier to establish the future schedule rotation and ensures teams will play the rotated teams the same number of times before completing the cycle. So, that should mean that either Indiana shifts to the West or Purdue shifts to the East and the Big Ten decides to eliminate the 1 protected cross-division game. At least I don't see the Big Ten bringing back the unpopular zipper model or the Leaders and Legends divisions.
